Ultra-Rare Gordon Murray T.50 Set for Live Auction During California Mille

An exceptionally rare Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 is scheduled to cross the auction block during the California Mille, highlighting one of the most anticipated offerings in the high-end collector car market this year. The vehicle, chassis number 009, will be presented by Broad Arrow Auctions as part of a live sale held at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort.

Widely regarded as a landmark in modern automotive engineering, the T.50 was designed with a focus on delivering an unparalleled driving experience. Developed by Gordon Murray, the engineer behind the McLaren F1, the car has already earned recognition, including a major industry award in 2023. Its limited production run of just 100 units was fully allocated before its official unveiling in August 2020, underscoring its exclusivity.

At the heart of the T.50 is a 3.9-liter naturally aspirated Cosworth V-12 engine, producing 661 horsepower at high engine speeds. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, reinforcing the model’s driver-focused philosophy. Advanced aerodynamics, including a rear-mounted fan system inspired by Murray’s earlier Formula One design work, contribute to increased downforce and performance. The system enhances underbody airflow while maintaining a clean exterior design free from oversized wings or aggressive aerodynamic add-ons.

The example offered at auction features a bespoke Reef exterior finish with carbon detailing and Graphite Gloss wheels. Inside, the car showcases a distinctive center-seat driving position, surrounded by premium materials including Dune leather and blue-toned upholstery combinations. The cabin design emphasizes both craftsmanship and motorsport influence, with Alcantara and leather finishes throughout.

With only 27 miles recorded, the vehicle remains in near-delivery condition. It is accompanied by original accessories, including a fitted luggage set, tool kit, documentation, and a photo album detailing its assembly process.

The T.50 is expected to achieve between $8 million and $10 million at auction. Following the sale, the new owner will have the opportunity to participate in the remainder of the California Mille driving event, joining a select group of owners of one of the most exclusive modern supercars ever produced.
