Low-mileage NA2 NSX-R set for rare public sale in Europe, one of just 140 examples built exclusively for the Japanese market.
A rare and highly sought-after 2003 Honda NSX-R, one of just fewer than 140 examples built during the model’s final evolution, will be offered at the upcoming Broad Arrow Auctions Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este auction on May 25. The car, chassis number NA2-1400116, is expected to fetch between €750,000 and €950,000, marking one of the few times an NA2-generation NSX-R has appeared at public auction outside of Japan.

Finished in Championship White with red Alcantara Recaro seats and lightweight BBS wheels, this NSX-R has been meticulously preserved and displays just 15,806 kilometers. It retains its factory-original drivetrain, including the 3.2-liter DOHC VTEC V6, which was precision-balanced and hand-assembled using motorsport techniques to produce 290 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Originally registered in Japan in June 2003, the NSX-R was later imported to Europe by a Swedish collector following intermediate entry into the U.K. for compliance. During its time abroad, the vehicle received expert servicing from Plans Performance in the U.K., followed by further work in Sweden and a comprehensive timing belt service in 2023 by AS Motorsport in the Netherlands, a recognized NSX specialist.

The car was further modified to meet left-hand traffic regulations, including the installation of OEM LHD headlamp units, painted internally to match its Championship White exterior. The original right-hand-drive headlight assemblies remain with the car.

This NA2 NSX-R has earned accolades on the European concours circuit, including honors at FuoriConcorso 2023 and a class win at the Costa del Sol Concours d’Elegance in 2024.
With production numbers lower than the earlier NA1 NSX-R and rarely seen outside Japan, this example presents a unique opportunity for collectors to acquire what many consider the ultimate expression of Honda’s Type R philosophy.
