A highly optioned 1979 Ford Bronco is being offered for sale at $48,895, standing out as one of just 119 examples produced with the Factory Free Wheeling Package. The vehicle is documented with a deluxe Marti report, confirming its rarity, original configuration, and production details.

Built at the Michigan Truck plant for the 1979 model year, the Bronco is identified as a U150 four-wheel-drive wagon with a 104-inch wheelbase and a 6,100-pound gross vehicle weight rating. Power comes from a 400-cubic-inch V8 engine paired with an automatic transmission and a 3.50 rear axle ratio. The truck was originally finished in Bright Yellow paint and remains visually striking with its period-correct appearance.
Factory equipment includes a white fiberglass removable roof and a distinctive multi-color stripe package in chamois, orange, and russet. Interior features include black cloth and vinyl Ranger XLT bucket seats, along with a flip-and-fold rear bench. Additional factory-installed equipment listed on the data plate includes an ammeter and oil pressure gauges, an immersion heater, reduced-noise exhaust system, privacy glass, and the Visibility Group.

The Free Wheeling Package adds further character with its unique striping, swing-away spare tire carrier, and raised white-letter tires. The Bronco was also ordered with the Ranger XLT Package, enhancing both comfort and trim level compared to standard models. Originally sold new in Canada, the vehicle carries documentation identifying its original dealership and delivery date of May 15, 1979.

The Bronco has since been fitted with upgrades that complement its factory configuration, including power steering, power disc brakes, a lift kit, Mickey Thompson aluminum wheels, and 35-inch raised red-letter tires. These additions give the truck a taller stance while retaining its classic late-1970s Bronco profile.
With 61,731 miles showing on the odometer, the vehicle is positioned as a collectible example of Ford’s final full-size Bronco generation. Its documented production history, distinctive factory options, and bold visual presence place it among the more sought-after Broncos from the era. See it here.
