Pro Street 1955 Chevrolet Sedan Heads to Auction With Supercharged Power and Custom Build

A heavily modified 1955 Chevrolet 2-door sedan is drawing attention on the Hagerty Marketplace, blending iconic mid-century styling with aggressive Pro Street performance upgrades. Offered out of Concord, North Carolina, the custom build represents a modern interpretation of one of Chevrolet’s most recognizable designs.

Originally part of the celebrated “Tri-Five” lineup, the 1955 Chevrolet marked the beginning of a design era known for its sleek lines, wraparound windshield, and jet-age influences. Over the decades, the model has become a favorite among enthusiasts, particularly within the Pro Street scene, where classic bodies are paired with high-performance components.

This example has been extensively reworked, featuring a 383-cubic-inch stroker V8 fitted with a BDS roots-type supercharger and dual carburetors. The setup is designed to maximize airflow and fuel delivery, producing substantial power routed through a four-speed automatic transmission. The drivetrain connects to a narrowed 12-bolt rear end equipped with a coil-over suspension system, reinforcing its performance-focused build.

Visually, the car stands out with a two-tone teal and silver finish, complemented by Bel Air trim elements. A prominent supercharger intake rises through the front-hinged hood, emphasizing the vehicle’s aggressive stance. Additional exterior modifications include a billet grille, front bumper delete, tubbed rear wheel wells, and distinctive Blue Dot tail lights. Weld Racing wheels paired with wide Mickey Thompson rear tires further define its Pro Street character.

Inside, the cabin reflects its racing intent with four bucket seats, harnesses, and a roll cage with removable door bars. A suite of aftermarket gauges, including a dash-mounted tachometer, provides critical performance data, while a B&M shifter and specialized console controls highlight its purpose-built nature. Audio equipment and a mounted fire extinguisher round out the interior features.

The vehicle rides on a modified suspension system with tubular front components and a triangulated four-link rear setup. Braking is handled by front disc and rear drum brakes, supported by a dual reservoir master cylinder.

Listed with a clean South Carolina title, the car shows 21,300 miles, though total mileage is unknown. Minor imperfections include paint chips on the nose and some interior wear. The auction is scheduled to conclude on April 21, with early bidding activity underway. See it here.
