One-of-One 2002 Acura NSX-T in Imola Orange Heads to Auburn Spring 2026

A highly distinctive 2002 Acura NSX-T is set to cross the block at the Auburn Spring 2026 auction, offering collectors a rare opportunity to acquire what is described as a one-of-one configuration. Scheduled as Lot #348 on Saturday, April 25, this NSX stands out not just for its condition, but for a factory color and drivetrain combination that sets it apart from every other example produced.

Finished in Imola Orange Pearl over a matching orange leather interior, the car represents one of just 49 NSXs painted in this color across the model’s entire 15-year production run. What makes this example unique is its pairing with an automatic transmission, making it the only 2002 NSX-T built with this specific combination of exterior, interior, and drivetrain.

By 2002, the NSX had evolved into one of the most refined versions of Acura’s mid-engine sports car. That year marked a significant update, including fixed xenon headlights replacing the earlier pop-up design, along with aerodynamic improvements and chassis refinements. The NSX-T variant features a removable targa roof, blending open-air driving with the structural benefits of the coupe platform.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter VTEC V6 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and limited-slip differential. Known for its balance and usability, the NSX was engineered to deliver supercar performance with everyday reliability, a philosophy that helped reshape expectations for exotic cars when it debuted in 1990.

Inside, the cabin continues the unique specification with orange leather sport seats, coordinated carpets, and NSX-branded floor mats. Additional features include a Bose sound system, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a driver-focused instrument cluster with a 180-mph speedometer. The odometer shows approximately 48,000 miles, supported by a clean CARFAX report.

Maintenance history includes a major service completed in 2018 at just over 44,000 miles, covering the timing belt, water pump, and related components, along with routine upkeep since. The car is accompanied by service records, an owner’s manual, and two sets of keys.

With fewer than 9,000 NSXs produced between 1991 and 2005 and only 246 built for the 2002 model year, examples with rare specifications continue to gain attention among collectors. This Imola Orange NSX-T, with its one-of-one status and well-documented history, is expected to draw strong interest when it crosses the auction stage in Auburn.
