A restored 1966 Ford Mustang GT Coupe will be offered without reserve at the upcoming Raleigh Classic September Special, one of 38 premium cars from three private estates scheduled to cross the block.
The coupe, chassis number 6F07A147553, is a genuine GT model finished in its correct Nightmist Blue with a two-tone Light Blue interior. It shows 17,754 miles on the odometer and benefits from a comprehensive restoration. Under the hood sits Ford’s “A-code” 289 cubic-inch V8 with a four-barrel carburetor, rated at 225 horsepower and 305 pound-feet of torque when new. Power is routed through a four-speed manual transmission, paired with a Hurst shifter for a period-authentic driving experience.
Factory GT details remain intact, including grille-mounted fog lamps, dual exhaust, rocker stripes, and disc front brakes. Styled steel wheels wrapped in red line bias-ply tires and a tinted windshield complete the exterior, while power steering provides added drivability. Inside, bucket seats, woodgrain trim, and the correct two-tone upholstery highlight the restoration’s attention to originality.
Originally delivered to Sharp Motors Inc. in Keokuk, Iowa, the car later spent much of its life in Oklahoma before entering the Raleigh Classic Collection. Included in the sale are reproduction window stickers, registration history, and a copy of a previous title. Minor paint chips are noted, though the undercarriage retains its factory-style red oxide finish.
The Mustang’s offering underscores the prestige of the Raleigh Classic Car Auctions, which for more than 25 years has specialized in low-mile, original, and documented vehicles.
