A rotisserie-restored, numbers-matching 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS with extensive documentation and California black plates hits the market.
A concours-quality 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS, rotisserie restored to exact factory specifications with matching numbers throughout, is now being offered by Volo Museum Auto Sales. The vehicle is fully documented and includes its original California black plates, Protect-O-Plate, dealer order form, and a stack of restoration photos.

Celebrating its 65th year as the nation’s oldest classic car dealership, the family-owned Volo Museum calls this Nova SS “one of the best in the country”—a title reinforced by its extraordinary condition, authenticity, and completeness. The restoration utilized numerous new-old-stock (NOS) parts to achieve factory-correct detailing from top to bottom.
Finished in original Marina Blue lacquer for period accuracy, the exterior of the Nova is laser-straight and rust-free. The body retains all original sheet metal, except for the NOS quarter panels installed during the rebuild. Chrome, trim, weatherstripping, and seals were all replaced or restored to factory-new condition. A fresh vinyl top, redline reproduction tires, and poverty hubcaps complete the showroom-quality appearance.

The interior was stripped and rebuilt from the floorboards up. The bucket seats were re-cushioned and upholstered, and the dash, door panels, headliner, and center console—complete with correct reverse lockout shifter—have all been restored to original specifications.

Under the hood, the born-with 327 cubic-inch V8—originally rated at 275 horsepower—was bored, balanced, and dyno-tuned to 326 horsepower. All major components, including the rare carburetor, manifolds, distributor, and smog equipment, are date-coded and original. The 4-speed manual transmission, 10-bolt rear end with 3.08 posi gears, and QA1 adjustable shocks complete the powertrain.
The underside of the Nova is as clean as its top, with refinished factory-correct floors, a full rebuild of the suspension and brakes, and a reproduction Gardner exhaust system.
This Nova SS is not only a reference-grade example of mid-1960s muscle, but also a collector’s dream—fully sorted, fully documented, and turn-key ready for concours display or Sunday cruising.
