Low-Mileage 1990 Nissan 300ZX Heads to Raleigh Classic Auction Without Reserve

A rare, one-owner 1990 Nissan 300ZX with just 44,465 miles will cross the block at Raleigh Classic’s September Special.

A pristine example of Nissan’s celebrated 1990 300ZX coupe will be offered without reserve at the Raleigh Classic Car Auction’s September Special, showcasing one of the best-preserved early Z32 models on the market.

The car, finished in rare Gold Pearl paint (code EJ0), is one of only 1,206 built that year in the striking color. Showing just 44,465 miles, the coupe comes from a single-owner collection and is backed by a copy of its original 1989 Tennessee title. Documentation includes the factory window sticker, original manuals, and a clean CARFAX report.

Under the hood is Nissan’s “VG30DE” 3.0-liter twin-cam V6, producing 222 horsepower and 198 pound-feet of torque. The engine features variable valve timing control and self-adjusting hydraulic lifters, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The car retains its factory coupe configuration with rear seat delete, dual exhaust, and an era-correct dark gray interior. Features include air conditioning, power steering, anti-lock brakes, power mirrors, and a premium factory stereo.

While the car has minor imperfections — including scuffs on the rocker panel, scratches around a wheel well, and wear on the bumper — it remains an unmodified and well-preserved example of Nissan’s breakthrough sports car. Notably, the odometer reading of 45,000 miles listed in 2015 on its CARFAX report is believed to be a clerical error.

The 300ZX launched in the U.S. as a successor to the Datsun Z lineage, marking a technological leap with its fuel-injected V6 and refined styling. Collectors continue to prize early Z32 models for their balance of performance, reliability, and affordability compared with European rivals of the era.

The car is part of a 38-vehicle lineup from three private estates, all selling without reserve at the Raleigh Classic showroom in Zebulon, North Carolina, from September 15 to October 3. See the whole lineup here.
