Daytona Yellow 1969 COPO Camaro with L72 427 engine and rare documentation to be auctioned Saturday in July 2025.
A highly sought-after piece of Chevrolet muscle car history will cross the auction block this July, as a factory-built 1969 COPO Camaro, finished in striking Daytona Yellow, is offered for sale on Saturday during the annual collector car event.

Wearing VIN 124379N693711, this rare Camaro is a product of Chevrolet’s Central Office Production Order (COPO) program, which allowed savvy dealers to equip cars with factory drag-strip hardware otherwise unavailable to the public. At the heart of this example is a correct, date-coded L72 427-cubic-inch V8, factory-rated at 425 horsepower. Built with a 512 casting block, the engine is backed by a CX-coded Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission and a COPO BE 4.10 Positraction rear axle, all designed for serious high-performance.

Originally delivered through Hugh White Inc. in Columbus, Ohio, the Camaro is accompanied by an impressive suite of documentation including its original dealer invoice, Protect-O-Plate, NCRS shipping data report, and time slips from Bowling Green Raceway—all affirming its provenance and performance history. A title dated October 31, 1969, adds further to its authenticity.

The Camaro's unique features include a ZL2 cowl-induction hood, chambered exhaust, Holley 4346 carburetor, Winter’s aluminum snowflake intake, and curve-neck Harrison radiator. Exterior details such as T3 headlights, black vinyl roof, XT-code steel wheels, and Goodyear Polyglas F70-14 tires remain correct to factory specifications.
Inside, the Code 711 black standard interior features a center console, AM radio, GM seatbelts, and factory trim code X11D80, confirming its build pedigree. Additional factory touches include LOF dated glass, door edge guards, and spiral shocks.

This COPO Camaro, restored with precision to factory-correct detail, represents one of the rarest and most desirable muscle cars of the late 1960s—a true street-legal powerhouse with documentation to match. Bidders are expected to show strong interest in this no-compromise example of Chevrolet’s covert performance program. See it here.
