A meticulously built 1957 Chevrolet Nomad restomod is being offered for sale at $279,900, showcasing a high-level reinterpretation of one of Chevrolet’s most distinctive designs. The two-door station wagon has undergone an award-winning, frame-off build that blends mid-century styling with modern performance, comfort, and drivability.

The Chevrolet Nomad has long occupied a unique place in American automotive history. Designed as a style-forward sports wagon, it prioritized visual impact over practicality and was never intended as mass-market transportation. This example builds on that legacy by preserving the Nomad’s unmistakable silhouette while integrating contemporary engineering throughout.

Finished in PPG Light Pewter, the exterior presents a refined, modernized take on the original design. Stainless trim, roof ribs, and long body lines remain central to the Nomad’s identity, while subtle updates introduce a modern edge. Carbon fiber fin inserts accent the rear quarters, and a carbon fiber grille with integrated driving lights updates the front end. LED headlights and taillights improve visibility without disrupting the clean presentation. The stance is set by 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Billet Specialties Rat Tail wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus V12 tires with redline stripes.
Power comes from an iron-block 6.0-liter LS-based V8, chosen for durability and torque. The engine is visually styled to resemble Chevrolet’s historic Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection, achieved through a Lokar LS Classics electronic fuel injection system. A 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission sends power to a Ford 9-inch limited-slip rear axle with 3.73 gearing.
The chassis is entirely new, built on a Hardcore Chassis foundation with Ridetech coilover suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, and Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. Supporting systems include a March serpentine accessory drive, Holley wiring and engine management, a polished stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers, and a Griffin aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.

Inside, the cabin was crafted by Steve Holcomb Pro Auto Custom Interiors and features custom red leather upholstery. Lexus power bucket seats, carbon-style trim, Dakota Digital VHX gauges, a tilting steering column, and a Billet Specialties steering wheel modernize the driving environment. Vintage Air provides climate control, while a hidden Kicker audio system with Bluetooth adds modern convenience.
With just 2,366 miles recorded since completion, this 1957 Chevrolet Nomad stands as a carefully executed restomod that honors its past while delivering modern performance and comfort. See it here.
