VW-based Austin-Healey 3000 replica captures classic motorsport looks with modern flair, offered without reserve.
A striking Austin-Healey 3000 race car replica, built on a 1974 Volkswagen Beetle chassis and styled after one of Britain’s most iconic sports cars, is set to be sold without reserve from The Burnyzz Collection.

Finished in bold racing red with a No. 59 roundel, white stripes, and period-style sponsor decals, the car was crafted to evoke the competition pedigree of the original 3000s that made their mark in international rallying during the 1960s. While it mimics the form of the legendary "Big Healey," this replica is powered by a rear-mounted 1600cc air-cooled flat-four Volkswagen engine, paired with a four-speed manual transmission.

Built using a fiberglass body atop the Beetle’s chassis, the tribute machine features spoked wheels, racing bucket seats with four-point harnesses, and a full roll bar setup. Inside, the car is equipped with VDO instrumentation, a wood-rimmed VW steering wheel, and a BSR Products center console switch panel. A modern Alpine stereo with SiriusXM capability adds a contemporary touch to the otherwise vintage-style interior.
Suspension upgrades from Öhlins, including inboard-mounted coilovers front and rear, enhance the car’s road-going performance. Wire wheels wrapped in Michelin Exalto tires help complete the authentic racer look.

Though designed for the street, this replica reflects the visual cues and competitive vibe of the original Austin-Healey 3000 racers that roared through Monte Carlo and the Alps. Imperfections are limited to light patina and wear on the driver’s seat back.

Owned by the seller since late 2024, this replica offers a unique and approachable way to experience the allure of a 1960s endurance racer—at a fraction of the cost of the real thing. See it here.
