A special edition of the Chevrolet Camaro is drawing attention for its connection to one of motorsport’s most iconic events, blending modern muscle performance with historic significance.

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS Indy 500 edition was introduced as part of the Indianapolis 500 Centennial Era celebration held on May 30, 2010. Designed to honor Chevrolet’s longstanding involvement in racing, the model pairs distinctive styling with the performance expected from the SS badge.
Finished in Inferno Orange Metallic with contrasting white racing stripes, the coupe stands out with a bold visual presence. The design is further complemented by 20-inch silver Chevrolet wheels and sculpted body lines that reflect the brand’s return to the muscle car segment in the modern era. The exterior styling pays homage to classic Camaro design cues while incorporating updated proportions and detailing.

Power comes from a 6.2-liter V8 engine paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, delivering strong acceleration and a characteristic exhaust note associated with Chevrolet’s performance lineup. The rear-wheel-drive configuration maintains the traditional muscle car formula, offering a balance of straight-line power and controlled handling.

Inside, the Camaro features a driver-focused cabin finished in black leather with contrasting accents. Dual power-adjustable front seats and heated seating add comfort, while standard conveniences such as power windows, locks and mirrors enhance everyday usability. The interior also includes a premium audio system with AM/FM and CD capability, along with steering wheel-mounted controls for easier access to key functions.

With just over 23,000 miles, this example represents a relatively low-mileage version of the model, adding to its appeal among enthusiasts and collectors. Its connection to the Indy 500 Centennial celebration further enhances its significance, linking it to a milestone moment in racing history.
As Chevrolet reestablished the Camaro in the late 2000s, models like the 2010 SS played a key role in redefining the brand’s performance image. Today, editions tied to historic events continue to attract interest for their combination of heritage, design and V8-powered performance. See it here.
