Just one owner and 872 miles on this vintage race car-inspired replica.

Ford Motor Company built its high-performance GT40 as a purpose-built race car for endurance racing, mostly to compete against rival Ferrari. Although the Italian automaker won the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1960 through 1965, the GT40 broke the streak by taking home victory in 1966 for three consecutive races until 1969. Many car enthusiasts drool over a vintage Ford GT40, and Superformance has been building replica and continuation cars from the 1960s for decades starting in 1994. Vanguard Motor Sales is excited to offer the opportunity to own this beautiful 1965 Ford GT40 by Superformance with a mere 872 miles.

There's no denying that this one-owner Ford GT40 will turn some heads with its vintage race car-inspired exterior aesthetic, and the paint is in excellent condition. A set of knock-off 15-inch wheels sit on all four corners and are wrapped with Avon rubber (215/60R15 front, 295/50R15 rear). The body is in fantastic condition along with the clamshell.

Under the rear clamshell of this GT40 replica sits a 427-cubic-inch V8 crate engine fed by electronic fuel injection. Shifting power comes from a Quaife transaxle 5-speed manual transmission. Dual exhaust adds to its performance while accompanying to the beautiful soundtrack of eight cylinders. A race suspension with coil-overs in the front and back keeps handling in check, and stopping power is provided by Wilwood disc brakes.

Behind the doors sits an incredibly clean interior with seats that appear brand new. One of the best things is that this Superformance GT40 is equipped with air conditioning. The steering wheel can be removed, the gauges work flawlessly, and the seats are equipped with 5-point harnesses.
