Every enthusiast knows the Lamborghini Gallardo's V10. Far fewer remember that Audi stuffed a close relative of that engine into a four-door family sedan and sold it with a conventional trunk and heated rear seats. The 2007 Audi S6 listed on Bring a Trailer is one of those cars, and with the auction at just $3,000 and nearly four days left, it may be the most overlooked performance bargain on the site right now.

A Lamborghini-Cousin V10 in a Business Suit

Under the hood of this C6-generation S6 sits a 5.2-liter V10 factory rated at 435 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque. It shares its 90-degree V10 layout with the engines Audi built for the Gallardo and the R8, the same family that powered the Audi Exclusive Jet Blue 2014 R8 V10 Plus we covered earlier. Here, though, the V10 is wrapped in a quiet, comfortable sedan, and power runs through a six-speed automatic transaxle to all four wheels via Quattro.

That formula made the S6 a true sleeper when new. Nobody pulling up next to a Quartz Gray four-door with a sunroof and Bose stereo expected 435 horsepower and a wail that rises toward an 8,000-rpm tachometer. It is the same appeal that makes this forgotten supercharged Jaguar XJR sleeper so tempting: huge performance, zero shouting.

What Came With It From the Factory

The window sticker shows a new price of $78,545 and original delivery to Audi of Huntington Valley in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. This S6 is finished in Quartz Gray Metallic over black Silk Nappa leather with carbon-fiber trim. It's equipped with the Technology Package, a sunroof, parking sensors, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, a back-up camera, an Audi navigation system, a Bose sound system, Audi Advanced Key, and heated front and rear seats. It rides on 19-inch parallel-spoke alloy wheels wearing 265/35 Continental ExtremeContact tires, with ventilated disc brakes at all four corners.

The cabin is also home to a 190-mph speedometer and that 8,000-rpm tachometer, a reminder that Audi expected owners to actually use what the engine could do.

Mileage, Service and the Fine Print

The odometer shows 76,344 miles, and about 200 of those were added under the current ownership. The listing notes 63 service history records, four previous owners and a clean Montana title. It's being offered by a New York dealer that acquired the car in 2026, and the dealer reports that an oil leak was repaired and the coolant tubes were replaced in preparation for the sale.

The Carfax report shows a "minor damage" entry from April 2023 with no further detail, and the seller says a scrape on the front bumper was repaired before the sale. Buyers who know the 5.2 FSI V10 will want to read the comments, where bidders are already asking about carbon cleaning, as these direct-injection engines are known to build up deposits over time. The seller replied that the car currently shows no signs of needing the service.

Why This One Deserves Attention

For years, V10 Audis have been easy to overlook. The R8 grabs the headlines and the earlier Quattro legends get the nostalgia. The sedans in between, including the S6, S8 and RS6, tend to get forgotten, even though they delivered supercar-adjacent performance with an everyday-usable interior. Enthusiasts who still love the idea of the S6 have gone as far as building outlandish versions, like the 667-horsepower, manual-swapped S6 Avant that became an internet-forum legend.

This one is a stock, relatively low-mileage example with documented history and a long way to go in the bidding. At $3,000 with three bids, it has plenty of room to climb, but few sedans offer this much engine character for the money. As with any V10 Audi, buyers should budget for maintenance and do their homework before placing a bid.
