Some supercars are built to be admired from a distance, and some are built to be driven. The first-generation Audi R8 has always been the rare one that manages both, and this 2014 R8 V10 Plus Coupe listed on Cars & Bids is about as compelling a version of that formula as you are going to find.
A Color Worth Chasing
The paint is the first thing you notice and the last thing you stop thinking about. The seller ordered this one through Audi Exclusive in Jet Blue Metallic, the launch color that introduced the R8 to the world. In direct sunlight the metallic flake lights up; under overcast skies it settles into a deep, moody blue. It is the kind of finish that makes an already dramatic shape look like a concept car that escaped the show stand, and it is paired here with a black interior wearing Audi's Diamond-Stitched Full Leather Package.
Carbon fiber handles most of the supporting work. The Sigma sideblades are carbon, as is the exterior trim, the engine bay trim, and a good portion of the cabin. Power-adjustable heated seats and a Bang & Olufsen sound system round out an equipment list documented by the build sheet and Monroney label included in the listing's photo gallery.
The V10 Is The Whole Point
Under the glass engine cover sits the 5.2-liter FSI V10, rated at 550 horsepower and 398 lb-ft of torque in Plus trim. Power runs through a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch to Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system, which is exactly why R8s of this era earned such a reputation for being usable in the real world. This one wears an Avior Performance stainless steel cat-back exhaust, which the seller says turns the high-rpm soundtrack into something genuinely unhinged while still behaving itself on the highway.
The rest of the modifications are just as tasteful: 20-inch PUR three-piece forged wheels with titanium hardware, an RU gen 2 carbon fiber steering wheel, and a Bluetooth MMI adapter module for anyone who would like to use a phone in a car designed before that was a given. Better still, the factory wheels, factory steering wheel, and factory exhaust all come with the sale, so the next owner can walk it back to stock at any point.
The Paperwork Tells A Good Story
Showing 50,700 miles, this R8 has clearly been maintained rather than stored. The gallery documents a December 2025 service at 43,006 miles covering the water pump housing gasket, coolant pipes, O-rings, oil pump seals, thermostat housing gasket, and drive shaft nuts, plus an alignment and a wheel balance. Oil and filter changes followed in April 2026 at 44,053 miles and again this past August at 50,390 miles, when the brake fluid was also flushed. The seller bought the car in November 2025 and has added roughly 9,800 miles since, which is exactly the kind of ownership you want to see on a car like this.
The listing is refreshingly upfront about the rest. There are scuffs on the lower front lip, curb rash on one wheel, and creases on the driver's seat outer bolster, and the attached Carfax notes an April 2020 sideswipe that caused minor to moderate damage to the left side and rear. The title is clean, the car presents beautifully in the photos, and two keys, the owner's manuals, WeatherTech floor mats, and a car cover are all included.
Why It Is Worth Watching
The naturally aspirated V10 supercar is a closed chapter. Audi wrapped up the Type 42 R8 in 2015, and the badge itself has since been retired entirely, which means every clean, well-documented example like this one gets a little more interesting every year. Bidding currently sits at $62,014 across 10 bids, and the auction runs through September 18 at 3:57 PM EDT. The car is located in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, and is being offered by a private party with a clean New Jersey title.
For roughly what a well-optioned midsize SUV costs, someone is about to drive home 550 naturally aspirated horsepower, all-wheel drive, a full carbon fiber wardrobe, and one of the best colors Audi has ever put on a car. That is a hard deal to argue with.
