Some sports cars get bought to be looked at. This one looks like it was bought to be driven, and the seller has the odometer to prove it. A 2017 Porsche 718 Boxster finished in Racing Yellow over an Agate Grey interior is up for auction right now on Cars & Bids, and between the color, the spec, and a service file that has already covered the one repair everybody worries about, it looks like one of the smarter ways into a modern Porsche roadster.
Three Hundred Horsepower And No Asterisks
Under the rear deck sits a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four rated at 300 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, sending everything to the rear wheels through Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch. The odometer reads roughly 36,000 miles, the Ohio title is clean, the Carfax is clean, and the seller reports no modifications of any kind. In a market full of tuned, tracked and tinkered-with German cars, a genuinely stock one is worth something on its own.
The 982-generation 718 Boxster and Cayman arrived for the 2017 model year, and the 718 badge was a deliberate nod to the Porsche 718 race cars that cleaned up in the late 1950s. Purists spent a year complaining about the move from a naturally aspirated flat-six to a turbocharged four, but the stopwatch never joined the argument: the 982 was quicker and more efficient than the car it replaced, and the torque arrived far earlier in the rev range. It also kept the thing that made the Boxster special in the first place, which is a mid-mounted engine and the mid-engine balance Porsche has been chasing since the 914.
Owners who have spent real time in a PDK-equipped 718 tend to come back saying the same thing, which is that the gearbox keeps the little turbo motor on boost in a way no manual quite manages.

Plenty of these cars left the factory in silver, white and black. This one did not. Racing Yellow over a black power-operated soft top and an Agate Grey leather interior is about as cheerful as a Porsche gets without a wing on it, and it is the sort of color that makes a car memorable at a cars and coffee full of monochrome machinery.

Here is the detail that should move this car up your list. The Carfax shows the turbocharger was replaced or repaired in May 2023 at 25,755 miles, along with the serpentine belt and its tensioner. That is the single repair most buyers quietly dread on a used turbocharged Porsche, and on this car it is already behind you, roughly 10,000 miles ago.
The rest of the record is the kind of boring that buyers should love:

The tires carry 2019, 2022 and 2025 date codes, so a matched set is worth budgeting for. There is also a loan on the car, and Cars & Bids recommends handling the payoff through its SafePay service, with the title following once the loan clears.
The current owner bought the Boxster in February 2023 and has added about 10,000 miles since. That is not a garage queen, and that is the point. These cars reward being used, which is more than can be said for a lot of collectible Porsches that only move on a trailer, such as the 718 Spyder lost at sea in a cargo ship fire.

A clean, unmodified, 36,000-mile 718 Boxster in a great color with the turbo already sorted is a lot of sports car for whoever is paying attention.
