Chevrolet's first-generation Camaro, built for the 1967 through 1969 model years on GM's rear-wheel-drive F-body platform, was the brand's direct answer to the Ford Mustang and remains one of the most collected muscle cars on the market. The 1969 model, with its more aggressive body lines and iconic Z/28 styling cues, is often considered the high point of the design.
This example, now up for bid on Hagerty Marketplace, was refurbished under prior ownership roughly five years ago and wears blue paint with a black vinyl top and black racing stripes, along with Z/28 badging and a chin spoiler. Under the hood sits a carbureted 350ci V8 backed by a Muncie M22 four-speed manual, nicknamed the "Rock Crusher" for its distinctive gear whine, and the engine has been fitted with a JEGS intake manifold, an HEI-style ignition, tubular headers, and an aluminum radiator.
Inside, the refurbishment included a new headliner, door panels, seat covers, carpeting, and glass, while a wood-rimmed steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and a Hurst shifter round out the driving experience. The seller, who has used the car as a weekend driver since acquiring it in April 2023, reports it also carries chrome 8-inch rally wheels, traction bars, a 4.10:1 rear gear set, and power steering and brakes. The car comes with a factory assembly manual copy, parts catalogs, and a clean Virginia title.
