Lunaz Unveils $1 Million Aston Martin DB6 Restomod With Gasoline Power

Lunaz has revealed a striking new chapter in its restoration program with the debut of a $1 million Aston Martin DB6 restomod that trades silent electric propulsion for a traditionally powered engine.

The Silverstone-based engineering firm, known for its electric conversions of classic British cars, equipped this DB6 with a hand-built 5.0-liter straight-six engine producing 345 horsepower. The move marks a notable evolution for the company, which had previously focused exclusively on zero-emission platforms. Engineers comprehensively reworked the car’s mechanical systems to ensure the vintage chassis could manage the increased torque and performance.

The project involved a full restoration of the body and a completely bespoke interior redesign. A new gearbox and fuel-injection system were installed to improve drivability and reliability, particularly for owners intending to use the vehicle regularly. The steering has been upgraded with a modern rack system to enhance feedback, while an active dampening suspension helps maintain stability during demanding cornering. A custom exhaust system supports the engine’s higher output.

Inside, Lunaz blended heritage cues with contemporary craftsmanship. Sustainable materials such as cashmere blends and recycled leather were incorporated throughout the cabin. Mother-of-pearl inlays and silver switchgear provide contrast against the vintage-inspired dashboard layout.

Finished in a specially commissioned metallic green paint, the car is the first in a limited run of First Edition models and represents Lunaz’s 50th completed build. Each example requires thousands of hours of labor to meet modern engineering and quality standards.

The introduction of a gasoline-powered option signals a strategic shift for Lunaz, allowing clients to choose between electric and internal combustion drivetrains. The company plans to continue developing both platforms for the DB6 and expand this flexible approach to other luxury marques, positioning itself at the forefront of the growing high-end restomod market.
