A final-year Dodge Viper ACR finished in the rare Snakeskin Green Edition is set to cross the auction block without reserve, representing one of the last and most extreme expressions of Chrysler’s modern performance icon. Showing just 812 actual miles, the 2017 model comes from the closing chapter of Viper production and reflects decades of racing influence distilled into a road-legal, track-focused machine.

The Dodge Viper traces its roots to a desire within Chrysler to create a pure, high-performance image car. Development began after internal discussions in the late 1980s, drawing inspiration from the raw simplicity of classic American sports cars. When the Viper debuted publicly in 1989, its long hood, side-exit exhaust and massive V10 engine immediately set it apart, helping reestablish Chrysler’s performance credibility after a conservative era.
Racing success soon followed. The Viper GTS coupe, introduced in the mid-1990s, became a dominant force in GT endurance racing, including multiple class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Continued competition achievements at major circuits and championship success through Chrysler’s Street and Racing Technology division reinforced the Viper’s reputation as a serious performance platform.

The ACR, short for American Club Racing, first appeared in 1999 as a lighter, more focused version of the Viper, built with track use in mind. Over time, it evolved into the most aggressive variant of the lineup. As production neared its end, Dodge expanded personalization through the Viper GTC program, allowing buyers to tailor colors, stripes, wheels and aerodynamic components.
This 2017 Viper ACR Snakeskin Green Edition is one of approximately 31 produced to mark the model’s final year. It is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 producing 645 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with the Extreme Aero Package, featuring a vented hood, front splitter, dive planes, rear diffuser and a prominent carbon-fiber rear wing.

Additional highlights include Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, adjustable suspension with 10 manual settings, factory Snakeskin stripes and gloss black wheels. Inside, the black leather cabin incorporates ACR-specific trim alongside modern amenities such as an 8.4-inch touchscreen, Harman Kardon audio system and a backup camera.
Notably, the car has never been used on track or driven on highways and carries no accident or damage history. As a result, it stands as a remarkably preserved example of the final, uncompromising chapter in Dodge Viper history.
