Documented 1966 Chevy II Nova SS L79 Offered With Extensive History and Concours Restoration

A highly documented 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova Super Sport equipped with the rare L79 performance package is being offered for sale with an asking price of $94,500, according to published listing details.

The car is powered by Chevrolet’s L79 327-cubic-inch V8, factory rated at 350 horsepower, paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain is reported to be numbers-matching, supported by extensive component verification that includes correct castings, dated parts, and factory-correct accessories. Among the documented components are the proper 362 casting engine block, 461 cylinder heads, aluminum intake manifold, correct Holley carburetor, factory exhaust manifolds, distributor, pulleys, harmonic balancer, alternator, and a 12-bolt rear axle with 3.70 gearing.

Finished in its factory-correct Chateau Slate Iridescent exterior paint, the Nova features black interior trim and Super Sport–specific equipment. The body reportedly exhibits consistent panel alignment, proper gaps, and original character lines, while exterior trim and emblems are said to be correctly placed and finished. Factory-style wheels with redline tires complete the period-correct presentation.

Inside, the car retains its factory console and features Stewart-Warner under-dash gauges that were owner-installed early in the vehicle’s life. The interior is described as clean and correctly restored, with materials and finishes aligned with low-mileage preservation standards.

A concours-level rotisserie restoration was completed in 2016, with attention paid to factory-correct undercarriage finishes and engine bay overspray consistent with original assembly practices. Documentation includes an NCRS Shipping Data Report confirming a build date of June 10, 1966, and delivery to Yates-Brandt Chevrolet-Olds in Wellington, Kansas.

The original owner retained the car from new until 1970, and subsequent owners report extremely limited use. The odometer shows 11,024 miles, believed to be accurate based on ownership history. Supporting materials include a notarized affidavit from the original owner, restoration photos, over 100 high-resolution images, a driving video, and comprehensive ownership records.

The vehicle is offered through Precious Metal Classic Cars, which reports completing a multipoint inspection prior to delivery. Financing and worldwide shipping options are also available.
