The upcoming models are set to replace the current E-Ray and position themselves between the Stingray and Z06 in Chevrolet’s performance hierarchy. Production is expected to begin June 8, 2026, at the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky, marking what is expected to be one of the final major chapters of the C8 generation.
The Grand Sport nameplate returns with updated styling, revised technology and a new powertrain strategy centered around Chevrolet’s latest LS6 V8 engine. The naturally aspirated 6.7-liter engine produces 535 horsepower and 520 pound-feet of torque in the standard Grand Sport, representing a notable increase over the current 6.2-liter LT2 engine.
For buyers seeking additional performance, Chevrolet will offer the Grand Sport X, which combines the LS6 V8 with a front-mounted electric motor. Together, the hybrid setup delivers 721 horsepower and 665 pound-feet of torque while also introducing all-wheel-drive capability.
The Grand Sport X borrows heavily from technology first developed for the Corvette ZR1X, including multiple performance-focused drive modes such as Endurance, Qualifying and Push-to-Pass. The electric motor system also allows the car to operate in electric-only settings for quieter driving situations and short-distance operation.
Both Grand Sport variants will come standard with Magnetic Ride Control suspension and Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Optional Z52 Sport and Track packages add upgraded tires, stronger braking systems, chassis enhancements and carbon-fiber aerodynamic components. Buyers can also select an optional center-exit quad exhaust system.
Chevrolet plans to launch the new models with a special Launch Edition package featuring distinctive Santorini Blue interior treatments combined with red accents and Grand Sport-specific trim details throughout the cabin. Additional touches include embroidered logos, custom steering wheel badging and exclusive interior finishes.
Exterior customization will remain a major focus for the Grand Sport lineup. Customers will be able to choose from hundreds of color and trim combinations, including the return of Admiral Blue Metallic and the introduction of a new Pitch Gray Metallic finish. Buyers will also have access to multiple wheel designs, including lightweight carbon-fiber options.
The Grand Sport and Grand Sport X will continue to offer both coupe and hardtop convertible body styles.
Pricing is expected to begin around $88,495 for the Grand Sport, while the hybrid-powered Grand Sport X is projected to start near $112,195. The new lineup is expected to play a key role in extending the life of the C8 platform as Chevrolet prepares for the next stage of Corvette development.
