For 1962, new sheet metal except the door panels was changed contributing to what most collectors believe to be one of the cleanest and important Chevys of yester-year.

Overall length was increased to 209.6 in and the 4-Door Sport Hardtop was dropped.

The 348ci V8 was dropped and Chevy began to focus on the 327ci V8. Another new engine was introduced, the 409ci V8 that increased output from 380 or 409 hp.

Full carpeting returned as standard equipment.
