The 1961 DeVille was restyled and re-engineered for 1961. The new grille slanted back towards the bumper and hood with the mesh being split by a sold piece of chrome. Quad headlights finished off the outsides of the grille. The revised rear window now had crisp, angular lines with thin pillars on some models, but heavier semi-blind quarter-roof posts on others.

The front fenders featured series designation scripts and a lower body "skeg" trimmed with a thin three-quarter length spear molding.

A new short deck, Town Sedan was introduced so those that could afford the car could park them in their luxury apartment houses.
