The Corvette received new styling changes in 1958
The Corvette received new styling changes in 1958 including new body design with quad headlamps, a washboard hood featuring simulated louvers, twin deck lid chrome strips, and simulated front fender air scoops. It was 2 inches wider, and 10 inches longer, but surprisingly, weight changed little. Add that to the new improved 283 V8 now producing 290 hp and you had a hot little sports car, which was reflected in rising sales.
