The 1958 Bel Air sported "curves where before there were lines." New to the Bel Air line was the well-appointed Impala models available as either a 2-door hardtop coupe or 2-door convertible.

Also, a new 348ci V8 was available that was originally intended for trucks.

This third-generation Bel Air lasted only one year and included a new dash, broad grilled and quad headlights that helped simulate a "baby Cadillac;" the tail received a fan-shaped alcove on both side panels, which housed dual taillights.
