While no major appearance changes occurred to the 1955 DeVille, a number of refinements were apparent.

The grille was redesigned with wider spaces between the blades, "chrome bullets" replaced fog lights (parking) from the '54s, the golden script "Coupe DeVille" was placed at the upper body belt just forward of the rear window pilar, and tubeless tires were a new feature.

Horsepower increased yet again to 250 hp via higher compression and improved manifolding. Sales almost doubled this year.
