A refurbished 1980 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 pickup is drawing attention at auction, combining its rugged heritage with a series of mechanical updates and modern features. With bidding currently underway and several days remaining, the vehicle is positioned as a unique offering for collectors and off-road enthusiasts.
Originally designed as a utilitarian workhorse, the FJ45 pickup has long been valued for its durability and off-road capability. This example has undergone significant refurbishment under both previous and current ownership, aimed at preserving its classic appeal while improving functionality.
The truck’s exterior has been refinished in matte blue, giving it a more contemporary look while retaining its vintage character. It features a drop-down tailgate with Toyota lettering, LED lighting upgrades, and a front-mounted 12,000-pound winch designed for heavy-duty recovery tasks. The bed has been treated with a spray-in liner and includes a full-size spare tire and a jerrycan, reinforcing its practical design.
Mechanical work completed in 2024 addressed several key systems. The braking setup was upgraded to power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and the steering system received a rebuilt box.
