Rare 2024 Shelby Super Snake Hits Auction With Low Miles and Salvage History

The Ford Mustang has long served as a cornerstone of American performance culture, attracting enthusiasts, racers, and aftermarket builders for generations. Among the most influential names tied to the Mustang’s legacy is Shelby American, a company whose partnership with Ford dates back to the 1960s and produced some of the brand’s most memorable high-performance vehicles. That lineage continues today with the modern Shelby Super Snake.

The Super Snake name has historically been reserved for Shelby’s most extreme Mustang builds. First introduced as a one-off in 1967, the designation later returned as a production model in 2007 and again for the current-generation Mustang. For the S650 generation, Shelby limited Super Snake production to just 250 units, instantly making it one of the rarest modern Mustangs available.

One of those 2024 Shelby Super Snakes has now appeared for sale on the online auction platform Cars and Bids. The car is finished in Oxford White with black exterior accents, including its racing stripe, carbon fiber components, and rear wing. Visually, the car presents as a highly aggressive take on the Mustang formula, consistent with Shelby’s long-standing approach to performance-focused design.

Powering the Super Snake is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 producing 830 horsepower. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, maintaining a traditional driver-focused setup. Shelby American’s upgrades extend well beyond the engine bay, with a Whipple supercharger system, upgraded driveline components, Borla exhaust, enhanced cooling, suspension modifications, and upgraded brakes all included as part of the package.

Exterior enhancements include forged 20-inch magnesium wheels, an aluminum hood with pin locks, a carbon fiber widebody kit, and Shelby-specific striping and badging. Inside, the car features Shelby interior upgrades, a serialized dash plaque, Super Snake door sill plates, and additional branded details.

Despite its rarity and extremely low mileage of just 750 miles, the car carries a significant drawback. According to its vehicle history report, it was declared a total loss by an insurance company following water damage in July 2025. As a result, it now holds a salvage title branded for flood damage.

Even with that history, bidding activity suggests continued interest. With two days remaining in the auction, the Super Snake has reached a bid of $64,000, highlighting the tension between rarity, performance credentials, and the risks associated with a salvage title in today’s specialty car market.
