Porsche is expanding its creative partnerships with a new collaboration that brings artist Kasing Lung’s most recognizable character into the spotlight at Icons of Porsche 2025 in Dubai. The automaker and the Hong Kong–born artist are introducing a limited-edition “King Mon” collectible alongside a custom art car featuring Lung’s popular Labubu character. The joint project marks two major milestones: ten years of Lung’s “The Monsters” series and the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Targa.

Labubu, known for its shaggy fur, long ears and mischievous personality, has become the signature figure of Lung’s universe, gathering a global fan base and a strong following among collectors. Porsche and Lung’s latest collaboration centers on the new “King Mon in Porsche 911 Targa,” a metal sculpture standing just under 40 centimeters tall. The piece will be shown publicly for the first time during the Dubai event, with production limited to 60 units worldwide in recognition of six decades of the Targa nameplate. Sales are planned for 2026.

The King Mon character, described as confident and protective, is positioned to mirror the traits Porsche associates with the 911 Targa. The model first appeared in 1965 with its distinctive roof bar and became known for blending the open-air feel of a convertible with the comfort and security of a coupé. Lung noted that placing one of his characters in a car for the first time and reinterpreting the Targa’s form offered a new creative challenge.

Porsche’s partnership with Lung has been ongoing, including an exhibition of his work in a Porsche showroom in Taipei earlier in 2025. For this year’s Dubai event, the collaboration expands with a life-size Labubu sitting inside an actual 911 Targa (Type 992). Wearing a Porsche T-shirt, the character becomes part of a full art-car design inspired by its surroundings.

Lung’s creations have built a large collector market since “The Monsters” launched in 2015, with more than 300 Labubu variations released in different forms, sizes and price ranges. Known for works that began with a children’s book series, the artist now adds a new chapter through this latest crossover between automotive culture and contemporary art.
