One of the world’s most exclusive automotive gatherings is set to feature a rare highlight this year, as a one-off 2018 Pagani Zonda 760 Unica Roadster prepares to take center stage at the Broad Arrow Auctions Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.
The historic event, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious showcases in the automotive world, traces its origins back to 1929 as a celebration of coachbuilt vehicles. After a decades-long hiatus beginning in 1949, it returned in 1995 and has since evolved into a curated display of both classic and modern automotive excellence. The 2026 edition is expected to continue that tradition, blending historic icons with select contemporary supercars.
Among the most notable entries is the Zonda 760 Unica Roadster, a highly exclusive model developed through Pagani’s bespoke Unico division. While Zondas are already considered rare, this particular version stands apart as a singular commission created for the founder of Top Car Design Spain. The car also carries added distinction, having been driven by Pagani founder Horacio Pagani.
Built as part of the 760 series, which represents the most advanced iteration of the Zonda platform, the roadster incorporates performance and aerodynamic elements derived from the track-focused Zonda R. Power comes from a 7.3-liter V12 engine developed in collaboration with AMG, producing 760 horsepower and paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The exterior is finished in a distinctive blue with gold accents, highlighting the brand’s signature use of carbon fiber construction.
With just 1,626 miles recorded, the vehicle has seen limited use, a common trait among ultra-exclusive hypercars. While no official estimate has been disclosed ahead of the auction, its rarity and provenance suggest it could command a significant price, potentially setting new benchmarks for Zonda sales.
The Zonda will be joined at the auction by several high-performance models, including a Ferrari 812 Competizione, Ferrari SF90, Lamborghini Countach and Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 Coupe. The auction is scheduled for May 16-17 at Villa Erba, alongside the main event.
BMW will co-present the 2026 gathering, marking multiple anniversaries across its lineup, further adding to the significance of this year’s showcase.
