Finished in Riviera Blue and powered by Mazda’s legendary twin-rotor 13B-REW engine, the RX-7 FD3S reflects the lightweight performance formula that helped establish the car as a favorite among enthusiasts worldwide. The vehicle is currently listed for sale in Japan with an asking price of $58,000.

The FD-generation RX-7 remains one of the most recognizable Japanese performance cars ever built, known for its balanced chassis, flowing body design and compact rotary engine. This particular example has accumulated 126,850 kilometers, or roughly 78,820 miles, and features an extensive list of aftermarket upgrades focused on styling, handling and track-inspired performance.
The car retains its factory five-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive layout while adding components from several well-known Japanese tuning companies. Exterior modifications are led by multiple RE Amemiya upgrades, including a front bumper, aerodynamic canards, sleek headlight conversion and a GT2 rear wing. Additional styling changes include Kazama Auto front and rear fenders, a MazdaSpeed R-spec rear bumper, aftermarket carbon hood and a rear diffuser.

The aggressive bodywork gives the RX-7 a significantly more track-oriented appearance while preserving the low-slung silhouette that made the FD-generation car famous. Lightweight RAYS TE37SL wheels further contribute to the performance-focused setup.
Suspension duties are handled by HKS coilovers, one of the more recognizable names in Japanese aftermarket tuning. The upgraded suspension system is intended to improve handling response and cornering stability, areas where the RX-7 already earned widespread praise during its production years.

The rotary-powered sports car also features a collection of aftermarket exhaust and intake-related upgrades. A Knight Sports Metalit catalytic converter, aftermarket front pipe and R Magic muffler have been added to enhance exhaust flow and overall performance characteristics.
Inside, the black cabin continues the race-inspired theme with BRIDE full bucket seats, an aftermarket roll cage and a MOMO steering wheel. The modifications emphasize the car’s enthusiast-oriented nature while maintaining a functional driver-focused interior layout.
Mazda’s RX-7 FD3S has become increasingly sought after in recent years as demand for analog Japanese performance cars continues to rise globally. Limited production numbers, the unique rotary engine and strong ties to tuner culture have helped push values higher, particularly for well-maintained or extensively modified examples.

This Riviera Blue Type RB S Package showcases many of the signature upgrades commonly associated with Japan’s golden era of tuning while remaining rooted in the lightweight rotary sports car formula that made the RX-7 a standout performance machine.
