Low-Mileage 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H Surfaces With Just 260 Miles

A rare and exceptionally preserved 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT-H has surfaced for sale with just 260 miles on its odometer, offering collectors a near-new example of the limited-production model tied to a historic partnership between Shelby and Hertz.

The car is one of only 171 examples produced for the 2016 Shelby GT-H series finished in the recognizable Shadow Black paint with gold racing stripes and an Ebony leather interior. Unlike most examples built for the program, this particular car was never placed into Hertz’s rental fleet, helping explain its remarkably low mileage and preserved condition.

Although the vehicle has had four owners over the past decade, it appears to have remained largely unused since it was delivered. The odometer reading suggests delivery-level mileage, and the car is reported to have avoided both accidents and the wear that would typically come with a vehicle designed for rental duty. Documentation indicates the car carries a clean vehicle history report and title.

The 2016 Shelby GT-H program commemorated the 50th anniversary of the original Shelby GT350H models built for Hertz in 1966. Those earlier cars became known as the “Rent a Racer,” giving customers the opportunity to drive a high-performance Shelby Mustang through the rental program. The modern revival of the concept brought the special edition back with updated performance and styling features based on the S550-generation Mustang platform.

This particular car was originally delivered to a Hertz location in Arkansas and is believed to be among the final examples produced for the 2016 model year. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 435 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a 3.55-ratio limited-slip rear axle.

Additional features include aluminum wheels, heated and cooled seats, leather-trimmed upholstery, navigation with voice controls and a spoiler-delete configuration.

The dealership offering the car has set an asking price of $89,900 for the low-mileage Shelby. The figure places the vehicle firmly in collector territory, particularly when compared with the price of modern Mustangs such as the 2026 Mustang Dark Horse, which starts around $64,000 and delivers roughly 500 horsepower.

For enthusiasts seeking a rare and nearly untouched example of the Shelby GT-H revival, the unusually preserved Mustang represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of modern Ford performance history.
