Lego Unveils Large-Scale Ford Model T in Icons Series

Lego has introduced a detailed Ford Model T as part of its Icons series, adding one of the most historically significant automobiles ever built to its growing lineup of large-scale vehicle replicas.

The new set, numbered 11376, is designed primarily for adult builders and classic car enthusiasts, though it is also positioned as a project families can complete together. Measuring approximately 11 inches long and 8 inches high, the finished model captures the tall, upright proportions of the early 20th-century original. The kit contains 1,060 pieces and is finished in period-correct black with brass-colored accents.

True to the spirit of the original car, the Lego version incorporates several functional elements. The steering wheel is operational, the passenger doors open, and the trunk lid can be lifted. A folding fabric-style roof and split windshield add to its vintage character. Under the opening hood, removable panels reveal a detailed engine, and a hand crank can be turned to spin the cooling fan. Additional touches include a seat that lifts to expose the fuel tank location and carefully recreated cabin details.

The Model T itself marked a turning point in global transportation and manufacturing. Approved for production by Henry Ford in 1908 and introduced on Oct. 1 of that year, the car was built with scale and affordability in mind. Riding on a 100-inch wheelbase and powered by a 177 cubic-inch inline four-cylinder engine producing 20 horsepower, it delivered modest performance suited to early road conditions.

Ford’s introduction of the moving assembly line in 1913 dramatically reduced build times and costs, allowing prices to fall from $825 at launch to as little as $260 by 1925. More than 15 million Model Ts were produced before manufacturing ended in 1927, a record that stood for decades.

Lego’s tribute is available for pre-order at $129.99, with shipping scheduled to begin March 1.
