Ineos Grenadier Now Available as Rental Option Through Hertz Expansion

Drivers looking for a more rugged experience on their next trip will now have a new option, as the Ineos Grenadier joins the rental lineup at select Hertz locations across the United States.

The move expands access to the off-road-focused SUV, which has only been in production since 2022 but was designed with a distinctly traditional approach. Developed as a response to the evolution of modern sport utility vehicles, the Grenadier emphasizes durability and simplicity over contemporary trends, appealing to enthusiasts who prefer classic off-road engineering.

Built with a boxy exterior that reflects older 4x4 designs, the Grenadier is underpinned by a steel ladder-frame chassis and equipped with beam axles and long-travel suspension. Its design prioritizes capability across rough terrain, aligning it more closely with earlier generations of utility vehicles than many of today’s road-focused SUVs.

Hertz is introducing the higher-end Fieldmaster variant into its fleet, offering renters a combination of off-road performance and added comfort. While the base Grenadier is designed with function in mind, the Fieldmaster includes features such as leather heated seats, safari-style roof windows, and an upgraded audio system.

Powering the vehicle is a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine sourced from BMW, producing 282 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Though engineered primarily for off-road use rather than outright speed, the Grenadier is capable of reaching 60 miles per hour in approximately eight seconds and has a top speed of 102 miles per hour.

The addition of the Grenadier to Hertz locations provides a new way for customers to experience the vehicle without committing to ownership. Rental pricing varies depending on location and availability, but the offering serves as an entry point for those interested in testing the SUV’s capabilities in real-world conditions.

For those who decide to make the transition from renter to owner, the Fieldmaster variant starts at $83,100, with higher-priced versions such as the Black Edition approaching $99,000.
