A home-built Chevelle packs twin turbos, 920 horsepower, and custom details while staying true to its classic roots.
In the world of muscle cars, few builds capture the balance between raw power and streetable practicality like Anthony’s twin-turbo Chevrolet Chevelle. What began as an ordinary driver has been transformed into a 920-horsepower machine capable of dominating the drag strip while cruising comfortably on the street.
The heart of the build is a forged LS2, fortified with Texas Speed internals and topped with LS3 heads, a BTR intake, and a Stage 2 twin-turbo camshaft. Twin 66 mm turbos provide the boost, allowing the car to produce 920 horsepower at the wheels on E85 at 16 psi. A flex-fuel sensor gives Anthony the option to switch seamlessly to pump gas when needed.
Power is delivered through a T-56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission from American Powertrain and a twin-disc Centerforce clutch, ensuring durability under heavy loads. At the rear, a Quick Performance nine-inch Ford axle with 35-spline axles keeps everything in check.
Despite its immense performance, the Chevelle retains much of its classic identity. Anthony painted it in a Porsche GT3 color, cleaned up the look with molded-in bumpers, and added subtle hood and fender vents for cooling. The car rides on 18-inch wheels wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires, giving it the grip needed to manage the power.
Inside, practicality meets performance. C6 Corvette seats provide support, while a custom console, Dakota Digital gauges, and TMI panels bring a modern feel. Even cup holders were added, making it a true driver’s car.
Supporting the build is a stiffened chassis with a 10-point cage, Viking Stage 5 coilover suspension, and Wilwood brakes with six-piston fronts and four-piston rears. The result is a Chevelle that doesn’t just put down staggering numbers but does so with refinement and reliability.
This garage-built project proves that passion and precision can create a muscle car capable of rewriting expectations.
