ECD Launches Custom Mustang Program with $280K ‘Ghost’ Fastback Debut

ECD Automotive unveils its first bespoke Ford Mustang, a 1967 fastback named “Ghost,” priced from $279,995.

ECD Automotive Design, the Florida-based builder renowned for high-end restorations of classic British machines, has turned its attention to American muscle. The company recently debuted its first custom-built Ford Mustang—a 1967 fastback dubbed “Ghost”—marking a bold step into the domestic market.

Finished in a sleek monochromatic style with cutting-edge engineering, the Mustang “Ghost” exemplifies ECD’s philosophy of merging classic design with modern performance. Originally a 1967 Mustang coupe, the car underwent a full fastback conversion before being completely reimagined at ECD’s Kissimmee facility.

Under the hood, the “Ghost” is powered by a 347 cubic-inch Roush Performance V8 producing 465 horsepower, mated to a Bowler-built 4R70W automatic transmission. ECD also offers a manual transmission option for clients who prefer to row their own gears.

The chassis comes from the Roadster Shop and features a SPEC independent front suspension, four-link rear setup with a Ford 9-inch differential, and Fox dampers. Braking is handled by Baer four-piston calipers, and the interior is outfitted with Recaro seats wrapped in custom leather, digital infotainment, and CC850-inspired retro gauges.

While the Mustang’s enhancements are extensive, so is the price. The starting cost for a full ECD Mustang build is $279,995. That includes a two-year warranty and custom spec process guided by the company’s in-house team. ECD says it aims to deliver not only craftsmanship but peace of mind in an industry often marked by long delays and uncertain results.

ECD built its reputation restoring Land Rover Defenders and Jaguar E-Types. With the “Ghost,” the firm is now targeting American collectors and enthusiasts looking for a turn-key restomod with a high-end touch.

Interested buyers can test out design options with an interactive configurator on ECD’s website—even if they aren’t ready to commit six figures just yet.
