Chevrolet Reveals 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and Hybrid Grand Sport X

Chevrolet has unveiled two new additions to its Corvette lineup, introducing the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport and the hybrid-powered Grand Sport X as performance-focused models aimed at enthusiasts.

The Grand Sport name carries a long legacy within Corvette history, dating back to a limited run of race cars in the early 1960s that later became highly valued collector pieces. Over time, the nameplate has evolved into a well-known option for drivers seeking a balance between track capability and everyday usability.

The latest Grand Sport continues that tradition with a newly developed 6.7-liter V-8 engine producing 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque. The engine features a high compression ratio, forged internal components, and a combination of advanced intake and fuel delivery systems designed to maximize performance. It becomes the standard engine for the 2027 Corvette Stingray, signaling a broader shift in the lineup.

Engineered for both power and sound, the new setup delivers what Chevrolet describes as its most torque-rich naturally aspirated V-8 to date. While official acceleration figures have not been released, expectations suggest the car will offer quicker performance than previous Stingray models.

Alongside it, the Grand Sport X introduces hybrid technology, combining the V-8 engine with an upgraded electric motor driving the front wheels. The system produces a total of 721 horsepower and features improvements in battery voltage and motor output compared to earlier hybrid Corvette variants. The all-wheel-drive system enhances traction and performance, particularly during acceleration and cornering.

Both models feature a wider stance inspired by track-focused designs, with larger wheels and tires to improve grip. Standard suspension systems are complemented by available performance packages that add upgraded brakes, specialized tires, and aerodynamic components for enhanced handling on road courses.

Inside, the vehicles offer distinctive design elements, including unique color themes and trim details exclusive to the Grand Sport lineup.

Chevrolet has not announced official pricing but indicated both models will arrive in showrooms this summer, with expectations that they will appeal to a broad range of performance buyers.
