C8 Corvette Stolen From Charlotte Valet

The owner says he’s getting few answers about what happened…

While car theft has been a growing trend for years, we’ve noticed a few new strands in how thieves are getting fresh rides. One that’s really been exploding is theft from valet parking services, something we’ve seen pop up in cities all over the country. One of the latest examples comes via Charlotte, North Carolina where a brand new 2023 Chevy Corvette Stingray was swiped back on June 17.

Find out what happens when a Wrangler and Hellcat get together here.

According to a report from WSOC, the owner of the C8 Corvette says he’s frustrated because the parking management company that runs the valet service he used isn’t giving him much information. The poor guy paid a whopping $108,000 for the car a mere three days before it was stolen from the Springhill Suites in Uptown Charlotte.

The owner activated the OnStar GPS tracker so police could find it. That led to a house in the northwest part of the city. Armed with a warrant, police searched the property and found a stolen Dodge Challenger and BMW M4, but the Corvette was gone.

However, they did find pieces of the mid-engine sports car, including its wheels and side paneling. According to the car’s owner, when he activated OnStar the thief was in the process of reprogramming the tracking system, so it no longer shows the updated location.

He feels the parking management company that owns the valet where the C8 Corvette was stolen should be more cooperative. But the owner of the stolen car says they’ve not responded to any of his emails about the situation, leaving him in the dark. We know having your vehicle swiped creates a ton of headaches, even if the insurance policy you have covers its entire replacement. Hopefully this guy is able to work through the difficult process and get another C8 Corvette fairly soon.
