Bonhams|Cars’ Audrain Auction in Newport saw a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ lead sales with a $5.7 million result.
A 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ Coupe roared to the top of Bonhams|Cars’ Audrain Auction on October 3, selling for $5,725,000 and headlining an event that totaled $10.3 million in sales.

Held at the International Tennis Hall of Fame during Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week, the annual auction saw spirited in-person and online bidding with an 85% sell-through rate across 47 lots. The result follows Bonhams|Cars’ record-breaking Quail Auction in California this summer, which reached $44.7 million led by an $8.6 million Bugatti Divo.
The Chiron Super Sport 300+, one of only 30 examples built, represents Bugatti’s final purely gasoline-powered hypercar. With a top speed exceeding 300 mph, it is among the most sought-after modern supercars, and its sale marked just the second public auction appearance of the model in the U.S.
“Together, the Audrain and Quail auctions closed 2025 on a high note for Bonhams|Cars in the United States,” said Whitney Maxwell, Managing Director of Bonhams|Cars. “With Bugatti sales leading both events, it was truly a ‘Bugatti season’ for Bonhams|Cars.”

Demonstrating the auction house’s range, prewar classics also performed strongly. A 1909 Rolls-Royce 40/50hp Silver Ghost Roi des Belges Tourer achieved $621,000. The award-winning example, restored by marque specialists, has earned multiple honors including Best Silver Ghost and Quietest Silver Ghost at the 2024 Rolls-Royce Owners Club National Meet.
“From rare modern hypercars to timeless classics, the Audrain Auction delivered across the board,” said Allan Greenfield, Bonhams|Cars Specialist.
Bonhams|Cars announced its next U.S. auction will be the Scottsdale Auction on January 23, 2026, at the Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, coinciding with Arizona Car Week and the Arizona Concours d’Elegance.
