Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction Nears Prior-Year Total With $191 Million in Sales

The 2026 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction delivered another strong showing, generating more than $191 million in total sales during its eight-day run from Jan. 17 through Jan. 25. While slightly below the previous year’s total, the results underscored the event’s continued role as a cornerstone of the collector car calendar.

Held at WestWorld of Scottsdale, the auction marked the 54th edition of Barrett-Jackson’s flagship event and once again served as the unofficial kickoff to the Valley’s winter and spring tourism season. Organizers said the auction drew approximately 6,500 registered bidders, all competing on vehicles offered with no reserve.

In total, 1,911 collector vehicles crossed the block over the course of the week. The no-reserve format, a longtime hallmark of the Scottsdale auction, ensured that every vehicle sold to the highest bidder regardless of price. That approach continues to attract both seasoned collectors and first-time participants, contributing to the scale and pace of the event.

The entire auction was broadcast live on History Channel, extending its reach well beyond the auction grounds and into homes across the country. The live coverage has become a major component of the event’s visibility, showcasing not only headline-grabbing sales but also the breadth of vehicles offered.

At the top of this year’s results was a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Coupe, which sold for $2.53 million on the final day of the auction. Close behind was a 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster, which brought $1.87 million, making it the second-highest sale of the event.

Those seven-figure transactions helped anchor an auction that spanned a wide range of eras and values, reflecting the depth of interest across the collector vehicle market. As Barrett-Jackson wrapped up another Scottsdale auction, the near-parity with last year’s total suggested steady demand even as market conditions continue to evolve.
