Aston Martin Marks 70 Years at Newport Pagnell With Historic Gathering

More than a hundred classic Aston Martins returned to their spiritual home in Newport Pagnell on October 11 for a celebration marking the 70th anniversary of Aston Martin Works, the British marque’s longest-serving site.

The event brought together some of the most iconic models ever built in Buckinghamshire, where Aston Martin’s Service Division and factory operated for over five decades. Owners from across the United Kingdom and Europe drove their prized cars along Tickford Street, forming a spectacular display that traced the brand’s lineage from the 1950s to the early 2000s.

Among the special guests were renowned designer Ian Callum, responsible for the DB7 and V12 Vanquish; motorsport and engineering legend Ray Mallock; and Iain Heggie, son of former Aston Martin Managing Director Steve Heggie. The day’s talks reflected on the brand’s legacy of design, craftsmanship, and competition, while the cars themselves provided a living timeline of Aston Martin’s evolution.

Vehicles on display included nearly every major model produced at Newport Pagnell—from the DB 2/4 and DB Mk III to the celebrated DB4, DB5, and DB6, as well as later V8 and V12 Vanquish examples. Even rare Lagonda and V600 models made an appearance, representing the full spectrum of the company’s hand-built heritage.

The Aston Martin Owners Club organized a relaxed concours competition, awarding trophies and commemorative mementos, including anniversary pin badges and bespoke prints. Guests also toured the Works facility, with open access to the heritage workshops, trim and paint shops, and restoration bays.

Aston Martin Works President Paul Spires called the anniversary “a truly special affair,” noting that several cars had not returned to Newport Pagnell since leaving the factory decades ago. “The enthusiasm and dedication of our owners and staff show how deeply this place is cherished,” he said.
