Touch The Stars In A 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

This pristine GT shows what two auto giants working together can make.

For a brief moment in time, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive collaborated to create a road car which would blow people away. You can see the result with this 2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren. Anyone can tell from first glance this is not your average vehicle, from the athletic, sleek styling to details like the huge fender vents and side-exit exhaust. Everything about this car screams exclusivity and speed.

Boasting just one owner, this car looks incredibly clean. The Classic Crystal Laurit Silver has a deep, vibrant shine, matching the unblemished wheels and other trim pieces. A rich Silver Arrow 300SL Red interior looks about as good as when the car was first crafted. As a true grand tourer, this SLR has an inviting interior where you can really get comfortable.

Of course, performance is one of the main attractions to such a car. After all, it can sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and do the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds at 130 mph. Those times are good even by 2019 standards. Much of the reason why is the hand-built 5.4-liter supercharged V8 engine. Peak output is impressive at 617-horsepower and 575 lb.-ft. of torque. Top speed is 208 mph.

Another key factor for performance is a lower curb weight than you might expect. Carbon-fiber reinforced plastic is visible under the hood and has been used throughout the vehicle construction. Other key features include active aerodynamics, a brake-by-wire system, and carbon-ceramic brake discs.

While the SLR was built in Portsmouth and the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey, England from 2003 to 2010, production numbers for the United States market were limited to 1,131. Coupe, roadster, and speedster versions were sold. This car was created to honor the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR.

If you want to put this Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren in your garage, it’s being sold through Fusion Luxury Motors.
