Get in this R34 and live your wildest JDM fantasies.

Few cars are as legendry as the R34 Skyline. As the first model year for the venerable generation of Godzilla, this 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R occupies a special place in the heart of enthusiasts. Normally it would be out of reach for anyone living in the United States, a forbidden piece of fruit they could ogle on the internet and that’s all. But this one has been legally imported, one of only a handful of R34s in the country.

If that’s not enough to pique your interest, there’s more. The Midnight Purple Special Edition has an amazing look that will have people doing double takes, but it’s also incredibly rare. Fewer than 300 were made by Nissan, so even in markets where R34s are more common this is a unique car.

Popping the hood on Godzilla is enough to make your heart race. Housed underneath is the legendary RB26DETT engine, a twin-turbo inline-six. While the car has plenty of power, you also enjoy optimal control through the all-wheel-drive ATTESA E-TS Pro AWD system. As you can see in the photos, this car also comes with a six-speed manual, so you can get in all that heel-toe driving.

The exterior and interior on this Nissan look lightly-used, for the most part. Plenty of goodies are included, like the pop-up digital display at the top of the dash, a JVC sound system, and BBS wheels. Since this is a V-Spec model it comes with all the crazy aero people love, like the big rear wing and diffuser. There’s also an active limited slip differential thrown in the mix.

Owning something like this R34 is for the adventurous since it’s legendary, even among Nissan Skylines. While it is a lot of car, technological aids like all-wheel drive should keep you going straight, as long as you don’t get too crazy. If you are interested in buying this Nissan Skyline GT-R, know that it’s in the United States on a show and display waiver. That means you can’t cruise through town with this car, at least not for a few years. Curated Classics, which is arranging the sale, says it’s emissions compliant in all 50 states, including California.
