This fire-breathing hatchback is one potent little ride.

Whatever you do, don’t judge this 1993 Lancia Delta Integrale Evoluzione II by its size. Although it looks like a benign hatchback like what grandmas used to drive to the grocery store, it’s what’s under the skin which makes it particularly legendary. An absolute terror in rally races, this road-going version being offered through VICCI Online Car Auctions will put a smile so wide on your face, you won’t ever want to stop driving it.

The amazing combination starts with a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission keeps things pure, while all-wheel drive allows you to stick turns with extreme precision. An aftermarket carbon-fiber scope cover sits underneath the hood vent, maximizing cooling so you don’t have to worry about pushing this car too hard.

With about 37,000 miles showing on the odometer, this Lancia spent the first part of its life in Japan, where it lived well. That much is plainly obvious just when you inspect the Monza Red paint, which is original and yet only has a few small chips. All the body panels fit great and there’s zero sign of rust. Euro-spec headlights have been installed, along with Weathertech rain guards for all four doors.

An original and good-looking Tan Alcantara interior has aged well through the years. Sports seats up front have big bolsters and integrated headrests, which are quite comfortable. All the factory controls and gauges are present and working, plus there’s an aftermarket Kenwood stereo with a USB port. Everything is in such excellent shape, the back door panels still have the delivery plastic on them.

You don’t need to worry about buying a car which isn’t legal. GF Motorsports handled the importing paperwork, and the company has a stellar reputation as the foremost Lancia importer for the US. This car has a clean and clear Texas title, so you’re good to drive it on public roads.
