Finished in Bright Red exterior paint, this American beauty is up for sale by Memory Lane Automotive – a family-owned car dealer – in Ephrata, Pennsylvania. A total of 7,663 Corvettes in 1989 were offered in Bright Red.
The fourth-generation of the Chevrolet Corvette (C4) includes models from 1984 until 1996. The last C4 was produced on June 20, 1996. This generation of the Corvette demonstrated a break from the C3 that Zora Arkus-Duntov designed. It came with a completely new chassis that was sleeker and displayed more modern and evolutionary styling cues. It also featured performance upgrades such as17-inch tires and computer-aided gear selection.
What’s more, the 1989 Chevrolet Corvette was the first to offer a six-speed manual transmission, taking the place of the 4+3 transmission that was found in the other C4 models. This particular Vette features the 5.7-liter L98 350 cubic-inch V8 base engine that is rated at 240 horsepower and 340 pound-feet of torque. A total of 16,663 C4 Corvettes were produced in the base sport coupe variant.
