Restored 1965 Chevrolet Nova SS Gets Upgraded Engine

Sporting a Halloween-esque theme and wicked fast motor.

Classic Auto Mall is pleased to announce this nicely restored 1965 Chevrolet Nova SS for your consideration. It would certainly make a valuable addition to your garage, especially once you see what’s been done to it. Born with an inline six-cylinder engine and in the color maroon, this classic has since earned an orange paint job with contrasting black accents where the chrome and brightwork once were. It may make you think of Halloween-esque and for good reason–especially once you see the wicked fast engine upgrade. This vehicle is currently up for sale at a price of $22,500, and you can make an offer on the car here.

This all-steel coupe boasts straight lines, good gaps, and really nice paint–all of which had been well sorted out during the impressive restoration. All of the brightwork, chrome, and badging have been powder coated in gloss black and are in great shape with no sign of any dimpling. For the 1965 model year, this Nova sports cleaner front-end styling courtesy of a fresh full-width grille with new integrated headlight bezels. Taillight and backup lights were restyled for this model, as was the rear cove. This beauty rides on 17-inch black Foose wheels wrapped in 215/45R17 black wall tires at all four corners. You can call it “a werewolf in sheep's clothing.”

The black interior, which appears to be original, features bucket seats wearing textured vinyl trim with a dashboard that houses ammeter, oil pressure, and temperature gauges. The rally-style steering wheel protrudes from the dashboard and the brushed-chrome console holds the floor-mounted automatic shifter. A rear bench stretches from door to door, above which hangs a new black headliner. The carpeting is also in good condition and appears to have been replaced since the original.

The engine bay is now home to an upgraded 350 cubic-inch V8 engine, which according to Classic Auto Mall’s decoder is a CKB block circa 1974. This mill has had a complete refresh in 2015. It is topped with a new four-barrel carburetor and paired with a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. This engine/transmission combination makes this car a force to be reckoned with. Even the undercarriage is nicely sorted out and worth a mention. It features a new fuel tank, new 2-inch exhaust, and total black surrounds. Underneath, you’ll also be met with a 10-bolt rear, independent front, and leaf spring rear suspensions, and drum brakes all around.

With no rust in sight and an orange Chevrolet block, this Chevy Nova SS is an absolute treat to look at no matter what the angle it. Don’t let this opportunity pass you by and haunt you. Call today!
