Low-Mileage 1955 Chevy 3100 Is A Turn-Key Show Truck

The only thing this show-quality truck needs is a new owner who appreciates it!

Back in the mid 1950s, pickups started to shift from dedicated workhorses, to becoming more customer focused vehicles. It was the beginning of the pickup truck boom, this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 pickup has only 6,939 miles on the clock, and is a great example from that era - this is no run-of-the-mill vehicle either. The details of this truck make it a very attractive find from Skyway Classics.

Powering the 3100 is the iconic 350 cubic-inch Small Block Chevy, built to impress. The engine block is coated in black paint to both give the engine bay a stunningly clean look, while making the billet and chrome parts pop, as well as polished accessories in the engine bay. Deep breathing comes from an Edelbrock Performer EPS intake manifold, and fueling comes through a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor.

Ceramic coated shorty headers not only add to the style under the hood, they efficiently sweep exhaust from the engine, into the dual exhaust, where it comes out with a growl. Cooling the engine is a Champion aluminum radiator, and ignition power comes from an HEI distributor. Power feeds into a Ford 9” rearend - which is the same rearend used in many race cars, so it’s ready for serious duty.

Exterior wise, this classic pickup is an absolute stunner with its bright red paint job, chrome wheels, and wood panel bed. Smaller details, like the billet fuel door and smooth tailgate, elevate the appearance. While the more obvious gleaming chrome bumper, open grille, tri-bar halogen headlights make a good impression as soon as you see it.

On the inside, you’ll find two-toned leather with a woven-look insert on both front seats, which are divided by a fold down center console that provides a little needed cabin storage space. Custom door panels and Autometer gauges give it a unique touch.

It rides on an updated suspension that employs tubular upper and lower control arms, chrome shocks, and gets its braking power from the upgraded front disc brakes. Other highlights are the power steering rack, billet tilt column, and Vision Legend Series chrome wheels.

If you’re looking for a turn-key show truck, this is one of the finest ones currently up for grabs. If it’s something else you’re looking for, make sure to check out the inventory page on Skyway Classics here.
