LS7-Powered 1963 Volvo Amazon V06 Custom Coupe Sells For $150K

Built by Jeff Allen from CNBC's "The Car Chasers", all proceeds from the sale will benefit the SEMA Scholarship Memorial Fund.

When it comes to building cars, the possibilities are seemingly infinite whether that is sticking to the traditional route or thinking outside the box. Built and modified by car guy, Jeff Allen, from CNBC's "The Car Chasers" and the "Skidmarks Show" podcast, there's no denying that this unique 1963 Volvo V06 Amazon Custom Coupe was a product of the latter. Seen at the 2018 SEMA show at the Pennzoil booth, this incredible Volvo crossed the Barrett-Jackson auction block on January 17th, 2020 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund, for a hammer price of $150,000.

Blanketed in BASF B67 Austin Yellow with powder-coated trim, this V06 features body modifications including wide-body cinched flares and a SEMA Garage custom 3D-printed rear spoiler. A set of Forgeline GTD-5 monoblock wheels sit on all four corners.

The original drivetrain would propel this car to a whopping 85-horsepower, but that is since long gone. Now powering the car is a potent Lingenfelter Performance 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine out of a Grand Sport Corvette and is backed by a 6-speed automatic transmission. Mechanical highlights include the driveline out of 2013 Corvette, 6-piston Baer brakes, a customized lower air dam, and a dual-mode exhaust.

Open the doors to reveal an interior as unique as its exterior. Recaro front seats were installed along with Takata 5-point seat belts for safety. Even more, this custom Volvo features a custom sound system, navigation, C6 power door locks, power windows, C6 air conditioning, a visual carbon console, and a custom tartan headliner and trunk liner.

A show-stopper indeed, this custom Volvo took home "Most Beautiful" honors for a non-domestic car at LS Fest, and it was a Golden Ticket Winner at the OUSCI SEMA show, or Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational.
