Who will be the new lucky owner of this incredible 1970 Pontiac GTO?

1970 was an incredible year for the classic General Motors muscle cars that we all know and love. Everything from the Chevelle to the Oldsmobile 442 seemed to morph into entirely different beasts to the mid-'60s beast that they once were. This is especially true for the GTO, which had been in its third year of second-generation styling at that point. By then, people were in love with these cars whose rounder quarter panels and sloping hood had already cemented themselves in the hearts of enthusiasts across the nation. However, nothing could compare to the Pontiac predator that dominated the dragstrip at the time. Of course, many people would love to get their hands on this excellent car, but how would you go about doing so?

This insane convertible muscle car from that same magical year might be the perfect answer to that question. With an enormous 400 ci V8 under the hood, this car produces a whopping 350 horsepower with assistance from the factory's four-barrel carburetor. One of the most excellent performance-based design qualities was the hood-mounted tachometer, which gives the driver all the data you might need when pushing this beast to the limit.

The optional W-73 Vacuum Operated Exhaust (VOE) consisted of vacuum-operated diaphragms controlled via a pull switch on the dashboard that enabled the mufflers to be bypassed. The VOE option was later discontinued during the 1970 production year.

The spoiler pairs with the quad-tipped exhaust to create a fabulous style that screams "ready to rock and roll!" Letting the convertible top down lets you feel the calm wind through your hair as you blast to high speeds with ease. Of course, this makes the bright red GTO stand out and gives it an extra level of fun along with the four-speed manual transmission. Spinning those 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white letter tires is a blast, and the power steering helps to keep that muscle-bound beast controllable and fun to drive. You had better hurry to get your hands on this incredible 1970 Pontiac GTO.

This is important as this is a special car. There were only 233 total GTO's equipped with the V.O.E option Vacum Operated exhaust. This is one of 21 Convertibles built and 1 of 1 in a 4 speed and this color combo. The GM execs pulled the VOE option after the Humbler debuted in the 1970 Super Bowl Commercial. They had pressure that this option promoted drag racing. Take a peek at the YouTube video below:
