Street Rod Revival: 1955 Chevrolet 210 Restomod Delivers Classic Cool With Modern Performance

Fuel-injected power, air-ride comfort, and vintage charm define this custom 1955 Chevrolet 210 with modern upgrades.

A menacing black 1955 Chevrolet 210 restomod has surfaced in the collector car spotlight, blending timeless Tri-Five style with cutting-edge performance and comfort. Featuring a fuel-injected GM Ram Jet 350 V8, this classic delivers far more than vintage curb appeal—it’s a turnkey street rod engineered to perform in today’s world.

Originally built as part of Chevrolet’s beloved 210 series, this example has undergone a thorough transformation. Under the hood, the electronically fuel-injected Ram Jet 350 pairs with a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and custom Jet Hot-coated headers that flow into high-performance mufflers, giving the car an unmistakable street rod growl. A stainless steel gas tank feeds the powerplant, and dual electric fans keep it cool during spirited drives.

Handling has been modernized with RideTech air shocks on all four corners, a 4-link rear suspension, tubular control arms, and power rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping is handled by four-wheel power disc brakes with billet calipers and drilled rotors. A heavy-duty sway bar setup, 2-inch drop spindles, and BFGoodrich Radial T/As wrapped around American Racing polished five-spoke wheels ensure this Chevy has the stance—and the performance—to back it up.

Inside, the custom red leather interior is fitted with a front bench seat, black carpet, Dakota Digital gauges, a tilt chrome steering column, and a Sony Bluetooth stereo system with XM compatibility. All chrome trim, inside and out, remains in polished condition, lending a show-ready shine.

Though the two-stage black paint has minor imperfections expected from use, the car is mechanically sound and starts, drives, and accelerates effortlessly. The air conditioning system needs a freon recharge to blow cold, but all other features function as expected.

With its retro aesthetics and serious mechanical upgrades, this ’55 Chevy is a rare blend of nostalgia and innovation, offering a standout opportunity for classic car enthusiasts looking for a street-ready cruiser with undeniable flair.
